Every year our Grade 6 class embarks on a 2 night trip to Babonango. The focus of this excursion is to teach the children about leadership skills and team work, all in preparation for their final year of Primary School and for their roles as prefects.
This year the class were joined by Ms Ebersohn, the deputy head and Mr Myeza, the Grade 6 class teacher. It was a fantastic trip which included a spider and scorpion study, cooking their own breakfast, stalk the lantern, star gazing, lots of hiking, swimming in the river, gold mine tour, obstacle course and building a bridge over the river.
They arrived back at school on Friday afternoon absolutely exhausted but full of stories and wonderful memories.
This trip is always a firm favourite of the Grade 6 class and a great opportunity for them to gain their independence and prove to their parents and themselves that they are mature enough to be away from home, have plenty of fun and cope well.
